What we do, what we want

The Swiss Society of Meteorology SSM is the scientific society of atmospheric sciences, meteorology and climatology in Switzerland. Our members are researchers, educators, students, weathermen, engineers, weather and climate professionals, and above all weather enthusiasts.

  • The SGM aims to promote the exchange of knowledge between science and profession by offering a professional network and various events.
  • The SGM helps students to become experts in meteorology and climatology.
  • The SGM is co-editor of the scientific journal "Meteorologische Zeitschrift" (MetZ).
  • The SGM is a member of the European Meteorological Society (EMS), the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), and the Platform Geosciences.
