D·A·CH 2025 Conference in sunny Bern
Last week, Bern hosted the triannual D·A·CH Meteorology Conference.
Nearly 250 participants took part in 17 sessions from 23 to 27 June under the motto "Weather and Climate in Focus". The conference also included six thematic half-day excursions covering a wide range of topics - from hydrology and urban climate to astronomy.
For the occasion, Bern turned into a second Lugano, offering perfect weather for the traditional river swim but also reminding everybody that climate change is here!
A big thank you goes to the Oeschger Centre at the University of Bern for the excellent organization!
As part of the conference, the Paulus Prize of the German Meteorological Society (DMG) was awarded. Congratulations to our member Prof. Stefan Brönnimann for receiving the prize in recognition of his work with historical weather observations.
