Crazy weather, shifting climate!
SGM-Symposium "Verrücktes Wetter?" on 20 March 2024.
Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 9 a.m.: This year's SGM symposium "Verrücktes Wetter?" starts in spring-like record temperatures on the ETH Hönggerberg campus. The approximately 130 participants can expect an exciting program about our subjective impressions and the objective facts on climate change in Switzerland and Central Europe.
Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 5.15 p.m.: It's done, an exhausting but extremely eventful and informative event is behind us! Crazy, except for minor problems with the microphones and thanks to the improvisational talent of many of those involved, everything worked out perfectly. We can look back on exciting discussion rounds, as well as great and informative presentations on changes in weather and climate extremes, their effects, attribution research and Switzerland's climate future. The SGM organisation team refills the empty reservoirs with a last cold drink on the terrace of the Waid.
A BIG THANK YOU to all participants and attendees for the great contributions and discussions, whether in the plenary sessions or during the coffee breaks. We received a lot of positive feedback, and thanks to you we can look back on a successful event. After the symposium is before the symposium - the next event is already being planned: The D-A-CH Meteorology Conference will take place in Bern in June 2025. More information will follow. In addition, our mailboxes are always open for further event ideas.
